Immediate Past President’s Letter

Daryl Kleinschmit, PhD, PAS, Dipl. ACAS

As we move further into 2021, I am happy to see that things are getting back to a more ‘normal’ environment. Some of the members have been able to meet in person for the ASAS Scientific Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky, and the ARPAS Symposium will be held in a hybrid format versus a 100% virtual format as we did in 2020. I look forward to next year at this time when both ADSA and ASAS should be able to meet in person and the ARPAS meetings normally scheduled during that time could also be held in person.

Immediate Past President’s Report

N. Andy Cole, PhD, PAS, Dipl. ACAN

Members of the ARPAS Executive Committee have recently completed a busy, but hopefully very successful, fiscal year.

The Governing Council met on July 8 at the Austin Hilton and had a very successful meeting. Among the items we discussed or approved are the following:

Outgoing President's Letter

Bob Wettemann, PAS, Dipl. ACAS

Accomplishments of ARPAS during the last year were possible because of the excellent guidance and dedication of our Executive Vice President, Kenneth Cummings. By his fine examples, Kenneth keeps us organized and inspires members to be active. I deeply appreciated his leadership and helpful approach.

Outgoing President's Letter

Jack Garrett, Ph.D., Dipl. ACAS

Where has the time gone? It seems like only last week we were meeting in Kansas City, and here it is a year later in Orlando. Serving as ARPAS president was not a traumatic experience as is often the fear that people have in participating in similar societies. Instead it has been truly a pleasure on my part to serve in this capacity for my peers in the industry.

Outgoing President's Letter

Michael Galyean, PAS, Dipl. ACAS

ARPAS has made several significant accomplishments this past year, but let me start by acknowledging that our success is largely attributable to the hard work and dedication of Executive Vice President, Kenneth Cummings. Kenneth keeps the “balls in the air” for ARPAS. I truly appreciate his faithful service, positive attitude, and common-sense approach to conducting business for our organization.

PAST- PRESIDENT'S REPORT

Marit Arana, PhD, PAS, Dipl ACAS

At the request of President Shaver, I am chairing the Strategic Plan/Vision Committee for ARPAS. ARPAS has not had a long-range planning committee since the 2003 Business Planning Committee created a strategy to get us out of our financial troubles. The planning committee is currently creating an online survey that we will send to the membership in early 2010. Your input and feedback is greatly needed and appreciated during this process.

Past-Presidents Green and Johnson and I are also at work on the Nominating Committee for 2010. We will be finding candidates for president-elect, western director, and northeast director for the next election cycle.

If you have questions or comments about any of these items, please don’t hesitate to e-mail me at marit.arana@algilbert.com.

Report from Past-President

Darrell Johnson, PhD, PAS, Dipl ACAN

If I had to pick one word to describe this past year it would be “transition.” We have gone through several transitions during this past year but that is indicative of a growing organization. I would like to point out several changes that have occurred during the last year.
